We have already written about how to start a blog. But maybe you already have a blog and are wondering how to get it out there. You write a blog for other people, and if no one reads your blog, it loses its fun.
Let’s take a look at 5 tips to help you make your blog more popular.
P.S. In addition to this “work” blog, I also write a personal blog that is visited by many more people:

So I’ve tried most of the tips on myself and verified their effectiveness in practice.
1. SEO
Search Engine Optimization is one of the best marketing investments you can make in an effort to increase traffic.
And if you do a primitive keyword analysis and use any of the free tools to do it, you’ll definitely see it in the results.
Then it’s also important that you write SEO articles, or articles that search engines like and understand what they’re about.
It will also help if you get some back links for your pages and articles – and here I wrote about the three easiest tips for doing this.
2. Social Networking
Social networks are probably the most obvious way to promote a site. Setting up automatic publishing of posts is probably what most people think of as social media promotion.
And it’s a good start.Even better, then, if you can get links to posts subtly publicized on the pages of various topic-affiliated groups in addition to your own accounts.
But if you want to use social networking truly to the max, you need to build an ecosystem, a community, a family.
Please feel free to come to our Discord where we can discuss this. However, the key to building a community is simple: you must be one of their members:
Most blogs and companies post links to their articles on social media and expect people to click on the link.
But why should they care?Try to give them a reason.
3. Paid promotion
Most people think of paid promotion as PPC advertising. This is one option, but it is certainly not the only option.
On the other hand, I would highly recommend looking at other alternative forms as well.
So you can think about:
- Buying space in someone’s newsletter,
- Posting your link in the “resources” section,
- Renting space on the site for a banner,
- Promo post in someone’s social media group…
The possibilities are endless, and with a little imagination you can certainly come up with a lot of them.
3. Cross collaborations
Guest-posting is probably the simplest form: you publish an article on someone else’s blog, and someone in turn publishes an article on yours.
Your audience will get to know that person, and the audience of the person you’re working with will in turn get to know you.The possibilities for collaboration don’t end there.
If it’s not your direct competitor, but rather someone with whom you complement each other (for example, you train dogs and he builds kennels), you’ve found the holy grail.
You’re targeting the same audience, but you’re each meeting a different need of that audience.
In this case, you can:
- Put banners on the site,
- mention yourself in articles,
- add links to your recommendations section and much more…
If you don’t know of anyone like this yet, try to think and look. It could be incredibly rewarding.
5. Start writing and sending a newsletter
As I wrote in my article on website promotion, I can’t get enough of the newsletter. I believe it is the most effective marketing practice ever.
And it’s not close.
For a trial, try one of the newsletter tools or write the first edition of the newsletter simply from your email.
You will see. It may sound strange, but the results will surprise you.
Word in conclusion
The golden era of blogging is over. However, blogs continue to exist and always will. And while they are harder to promote than they used to be, I still wouldn’t say they are hard.
Yes, you have to take a few extra steps, it won’t “happen” on its own, but those steps will pay off handsomely.
