Chat GPT is a very powerful and flexible language model (neural network) that was created by OpenAI. Simply put, Chatgpt is an artificial intelligence that “knows Czech” and can be used to answer advanced questions. As a result, a somewhat capable user is able to drastically increase the efficiency of their workflow with its help.
The model is most commonly referred to as generative AI, which can generate natural-sounding text that is almost indistinguishable from human-written text. The main problem with the model at the moment is its factual (in)accuracy, and you should properly verify all outputs.
The version of GPT-3 currently in use, however, is one of the largest and most powerful language models on the market. It can work with many different languages (including English) and can be used for a wide range of purposes such as translation, content creation, question answering, learning and much more.In the near future, we can also expect GPT-4 to be even larger and more powerful in capacity.
Where can this technology be tested?
You can try out this AI at https://chat.openai.com/. You can also find a GPT playground with API at this site: https://platform.openai.com/.
Where can you learn how to work with AI virtually?
There are a number of courses and they will be added to this article over time. The link to the largest AI course in Czech so far can be found in the bar below:
What can Chat GPT be used for in practice?
As I have already hinted, there are a number of possible uses, for example:
- Translations,
- Content creation: mainly research, proofreading, idea generation…
- Making extracts from text,
- Learning,
- Answering questions,
- and much more…
The best thing you can do is to think about what activities you engage in during your normal working days, and then think and say which ones you could (semi-)automate using GPT3 chat.
What do I use the model for?
- generating structured data for articles (then you still need to check for example where),
- generate first drafts of general articles for content blogs,
- Google Sheets integration (thanks to a simple integration that you can set up yourself, you can have GPT chat available directly in Google Sheets)
- when I want to understand a concept (like programming),
- various (mainly SEO) experiments…
How much longer will it be free to use?
We don’t know. Running an AI model is expensive, but CEO Sam Altman said that even if the tool monetizes, it will be in the order of cents per chat. So we’ll see). However, one can assume this is the case, given how much it costs so far to use the various AI models via the API:
1. February 2023 announced Open AI ChatGPT Plus, which would be a premium subscription for the technology where for $20 per month you will receive:
We’ll have to wait and see if the subscription is worth it. However, it’s definitely worth starting to experiment with AI for free today.
Future of the Model
I think generative AI will drastically change work as we know it now. Microsoft, which is a big investor and part owner of the technology, is adding it to its MS Office tools and will likely soon be part of Microsoft’s Bing search engine.
Apps are far from the only place we’ll encounter AI, however. It’s clear that technology is also changing the idea of how we teach and will transform schooling itself.
Personally, I am very curious about the development of the system. I already use the technology on an almost daily basis and since it can also speak Czech, I believe that soon this ai will help in areas where we would not have thought of it not long ago.
