If you don’t know what Collabim is, you can first check out the article Collabim reviews. Collabim is a SEO tool that allows you to measure your rankings for certain keywords, perform various analyses, or track your competition in search engines.
Recently, Collabim published a book in collaboration with SEO specialist Michal Binca: The basics of SEO: clearly and concisely.I bought and read the book.
So what is the book like?
First Impression
Poverty.
You won’t be impressed by the wording, formatting, or length.
For some reason, all the images are nonsensically in the mockup of the Macbook, and there are lots of long, unabbreviated links below the line that the text references.
Personally, I think the links could have easily been in a section at the end, or some links to each chapter via a shortener e.g. .
It would be more practical and certainly a lot less visually obtrusive.
Judge the images within the mockup and their quality for yourself…
However, enough criticism of the appearance, it is secondary.
What was the content?
Is the book worth reading?
Yes.
The book is not for SEO professionals, however, if you are a beginner or moderately advanced like me, the book is fine.
You can read it in two afternoons and get a lot of interesting suggestions.
What interested me most about the book?
I’ll list in bullet points the most interesting things I took away from the book, feel free to ask me in the comments afterwards, I’m happy to elaborate.
- A few practical rules of thumb: one keyword, one access page, etc.
- Frameworks for estimating the return of content creation efforts
This is very important. Before one embarks on something, one should do the math to see if it can actually pay off. I don’t do it much myself, but I know I should. Data rules. And the framework in the book is both intuitive and simple enough that you can take advantage of it.
And then, of course, a number of ideas that spontaneously occur to you as you read, but wouldn’t have occurred to you if you hadn’t read the book.
There is one more thing worth mentioning about buying the book.Marketing Napalm
You know the Collabim trick, you know how this platform is focused on inbound marketing – marketing through content.
Buying a book from Collabim will trigger a number of campaigns that have interesting content:- Free Mini Training,
- Free one-hour consultation with Dalibor Jaroš,
- Trial to Collabim (I think) for free,
- Lots of discounts on everything Collabim offers (from courses to the tool itself).
No one wants that. However, if your goal is to get better at SEO, I believe you can take advantage of a number of these things, which makes the purchase an even more interesting venture.
Word in conclusion
Unless you are a seasoned SEO specialist, the book, like the subsequent bonuses, will do you no good. However, you are not the target audience.
If you are a beginner in the world of SEO, this is the book for you, and in fact I would buy it without any worries at all.
And I’d recommend it with confidence even to someone like me (an informed layman). Because it doesn’t matter that there are better SEO books out there. If you can buy this book for 300 CZK, take three practical tips from it and put them into practice, you will get a multiple return on your 300 CZK investment – even if you count your time spent on the book.
Never mind the visuals, the content of the book is really solid, above average.
Bottom line, I can recommend the book.
Let me know in the comments, are you thinking of buying the book or have you even read it yet? And how did it affect you?
