What is Elementor?
Elementor is a visual tool for creating web pages – called a page builder. It is a WordPress extension that allows web designers to create professional customized pages without having to know how to program or code.You can read more in What is Elementor.
What is the difference between custom development and Elementor development?
Elementor allows you to create a website using the drag and drop builder, or dragging and dropping tiles. The creation itself looks a bit like you are creating a PowerPoint presentation.
Elementor also has a number of templates, which makes it easy for almost anyone to make a simple website, even without programming skills.
Custom web development, on the other hand, requires knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Custom web development allows for greater flexibility and customization. The resulting website is also often faster. However, it is harder to do quick iterations and try things out inexpensively.
And if you decide to create a site in Elementor, I highly recommend reaching out to a professional for help (or at least a follow-up review), as turning out a good site in Elementor (though it may seem like it at first glance) is not easy.
How much does Elementor cost?
Elementor also has a free version. While the version is logically truncated, you can still build a full-featured website with it. So before you buy Elementor, I highly recommend that you try it out at least like this.
For one page, Elementor costs… 1162 CZK per year.
For 25 pages, it’s… 4721 CZK per year.
Whether that’s a lot or a little depends mostly on the specific use/project. However, in the world of web builders, these are some of the highest prices.

How to learn how to use Elementor
I’ve created a free Elementor course that can be a good start. The advantage of the course is that it is in English, and there are of course dozens of similar courses on English YouTube.
In addition to the overall course, I try to gradually create videos with specific topics, such as a how to create a post template tutorial. So if you are interested in something specific, feel free to let me know in the comments.
Elementor also has a free version. You don’t need a domain or hosting. Just download LocalWP, Elementor’s free version, and you can start experimenting.
Optimizing the resulting website
The basic question worth answering is how to speed up Elementor web. Once you have a site that is at least reasonably fast – unfortunately, with Elementor, that speed will never be ideal – you can move on to further optimization and setup.
Set up reCAPTCHU, backups, security, and ideally make a routine of these things so you don’t forget them for any project.

Word in conclusion
Up and down, Elementor is still the king of web builders. Personally, I’ve been slowly switching to alternatives that get along well with Gutenberg – like Bricks. However, Elementor has a huge investment on its back, and I’m guessing the next 2-3 years will still belong to it.Elementor is also intuitive and has an extremely fast learning curve. So if you’re looking for a way to create a customized site, or have a site created so that you can fully manage it yourself, Elementor is a good option for me.
